On entry welcome pack
WELCOME TO KALEIDASCOPE
Dear Parent/ Carer
We would like to welcome you and your child to our centre.
Here at Kaleidascope we understand that both you and your child may be experiencing a whole range of feelings about starting nursery.
We have put several things in place to help:·
Your child’s key person will be allocated on completion of a registration form and prior to your child starting at one of our centres.
This information pack contains important information for you including contact numbers of setting, names and qualifications of staff, terms dates and information on our policies and an over view of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) (DFE 2012) which guides our work.
Your child will have a Learning Journey online on the centre's baby days system. This is where your child’s key person will record observations of your child which can be observations of special moments, longer written observations of progress made as well as photographs. These observations consist of ‘WOW’ moments, where your child has done or said something that is deemed spectacular for their personal development (such as putting on own coat; sharing toys; making friends). We also include other photographic and diary notes for parents as we believe it is important that you are able to see what your child does in the centre. All of these observations help us to record your child’s progress and identify if your child needs additional support.
Within the welcome pack will be a ‘Right from the start’ form. The information from this completed form will help your child’s key person begin to build a picture of your child’s starting point on entry to the centre. Please share your child's likes or dislikes, any information and photographs of close family members, additionally this information will support your child’s key person when forming a special relationship and planning activities for your child. Your key person will be happy to discuss and complete the form with you.
Should you have any further questions please ask your child’s key person or any member of staff who will gladly assist you.

WELCOME TO KALEIDASCOPE
Dear Parent/ Carer
We would like to welcome you and your child to our centre.
Here at Kaleidascope we understand that both you and your child may be experiencing a whole range of feelings about starting nursery.
We have put several things in place to help:·
- A settling in programme, which is discussed and agreed so that both you and your child can feel comfortable in our nursery, before any separation occurs.
- A key person system, this is where one of our skilled nursery workers is allocated specifically to you and your child. The key person will be the person who gets to know your child best and will ensure they develop a strong relationship with your child, an excellent understanding of your child’s development and will share this information with you regularly. Your key person will be the main person you deal with on a day to day basis.
- A digital system to record your child’s development. The benefits of this are huge as it is very secure and you can use it too.
- A wide range of policies and procedures so that you can understand how our nursery works, what you can expect from us and what we need from you to ensure your child receives the maximum benefit.
Your child’s key person will be allocated on completion of a registration form and prior to your child starting at one of our centres.
